TOWN OF ANGELICA

Special Meeting

June 29, 2004

Town Officials Present:  Chairman, Richard Smith, Supervisors, Tom Gwidt and Clifford Powers and Clerk, Janet Powers

Town Officials Absent:  Treasurer, Lisa Matuszak

Others Present:  Mike Maroszek, Keith VanLannen, Allan Maroszek, Buck McKeefry and Lee Nelson representing MCC, Inc.

Town of Angelica Chairman Smith called the meeting to order at 7:00 a.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.  Smith verified with Clerk Powers that proper posting and noticing  of the meeting had been done.

The purpose of the special meeting was to receive and open bids for reconstruction work to be done on one mile of Hillside Drive going one mile to the west from its intersection with County Road C and one mile of Willow Road between its intersection with Town Hall Drive going north to its intersection with Middle Drive

Bids were opened at 7:05 p.m.   The bids were for reconstruction work with a separate estimate of quantity of stone needed and a per ton price for that stone.  To be able to compare the bids an average of the quantity estimates was used times the price of the stone included in each bid.  This amount was added to the bid price for reconstruction work.  (The average quantity used for Hillside Drive was 3,000 tons of stone and the average for Willow Road was 3,700 tons of stone.)

Five contractors submitted bids.  MOTION (Gwidt/Powers/PASSED UNANIMOUSLY) to accept the bid from Sievert Excavating for both Hillside Drive and Willow Road.  Using the estimated quantities of stone times each contractors per-ton price for stone added to the bids for the dirt reconstruction work resulted in the two bids from Sievert being the lowest.

The board reviewed road expenses incurred up to this date compared to budget and how much seal coating and crack filling of town roads should be done.  The general consensus was to have Chairman Smith consult with former Chairman Maroszek to determine just what roads should be seal coated or crack filled and discuss/decide how much to do at a future meeting.

MOTION (Gwidt/Powers/PASSED) to adjourn the meeting.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
