TOWN OF ANGELICA
Informational Meeting for Residents on West Town Road
September 27, 2005
Town Officials Present: Chairman, Richard Smith, Supervisor Clifford Powers, Supervisor Wilbert Lewis
and Clerk Janet Powers
Property Owners on West Town Road: Gary Drzewiecki, Robert Egnarski, Timothy Kaye, Brian and Lisa Lancour and Tom and Cher Wilson who arrived at approximately 7:00 p.m.
This meeting of property owners/residents on West Town Road was called to have discussion and receive information in regard to a drainage problem on the north end of West Town Road. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Richard Smith at 6:00 p.m.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Some of the comments from those present were:
(1) Rob Egnarski ~ the ditch should be cleaned out to the creek that is to the south and parts of the ditch are now wet all year long ~ his culvert has water standing in it and has been pushed up in the past several years ~ the culvert should be lowered
(2) Gary Drzewiecki ~ he had dug out the road ditch in front of the Engarski property and just this small amount of digging brought the water down several inches ~ commented that the road itself doesn’t have the right fall all the way from the Egnarski property to the creek but felt the ditch could be cleaned out and the water would flow to the south.
(3) Brian Lancour ~ felt cleaning out the ditch would solve the problem
(4) Tim Kaye ~ water stands in front of his property all throughout the year
The Lancours offered to have the dirt that is removed when cleaning out the ditch be put on their land. Several other property owners expressed an interest in taking small amounts of the dirt also.
The general consensus was that cleaning out the ditch from the northwest corner of Robert Egnarski’s property and lowering his culvert should let the water flow to the ditch that is to the south. Chairman Smith indicated he would contact the county and have someone come out with a transit to confirm if there is sufficient fall to do this. There is a concern as to how many culverts would have to be lowered when cleaning out the ditch.
Also, the Village of Pulaski should be contacted as cleaning out the ditch on the east side of West Town Road going south to the creek could involve cleaning out a ditch that is on the Brown County side of West Town Road and would be a concern of the Village of Pulaski.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
Janet Powers, Town of Angelica Clerk
