TOWN OF ANGELICA

Special Meeting ~ July 17, 2006

 

Town Officials Present:  Chairman, Richard Smith, Supervisor Cliff Powers, Supervisor Wilbert Lewis, and Clerk Janet Powers

 

Town Officials Absent:  Treasurer Lisa Matuszak

 

Town Planning Committee Officials Present:  Richard Ferfecki, Connie Nischke, Barbara McKeefry, James Bleick and George Fabian

 

The special meeting regarding upcoming planning work on the Smart Growth Comprehensive Plan opened at 6:40 p.m.  Roll call was taken with the above-mentioned officials being present.  Notice of the meeting was posted on July 15, 2006.

 

Chairman Smith turned the meeting over to Planning Committee Chairman, Richard Ferfecki.  Ferfecki gave those present a listing of concerns of the Planning Committee.  It was established that the town has village powers.  (Town Clerk’s note:  A town electorate Resolution 4-8-03A was passed at the April 8, 2003 town annual meeting which ratified a motion made on April 1, 1958 and April 2, 1968 that authorized the Town of Angelica Board of Supervisors to exercise powers of a village board.)

 

There was general discussion regarding:

·        sending out a survey regarding elements of a comprehensive plan

·        how the public will be kept informed of the comprehensive planning taking place

·        using the 1997 land-use plan and incorporating it into the comprehensive plan

·        membership of the Town of Angelica Plan Commission and what an ordinance should include

·        other ordinances needed in connection with a comprehensive plan

·        direction from the town board to the Planning Committee

 

The general consensus was to plan on having meetings regarding the town’s comprehensive plan on the third Monday of every month, with the first meeting being August 21, 2006 at 6:30 p.m.  It was also suggested that Cathi Wielgus of the consulting firm, Vandewalle & Associates, be asked to be present at this meeting.

 

            MOTION (Powers/Lewis/PASSED) to adjourn the meeting at 8:15 p.m.
