Special Meeting ~ July 27, 2006

Note: Official notice of this meeting and bid advertisement showed the meeting as being scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on July 27, 2006. However the bid specs that were given to contractors present at the on-site pre-bid meeting held on July 20, 2006 showed “BID OPENING: Thursday, July 27, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. at the Town Hall”.

The purpose of the special meeting was to receive and open bids for reconstruction work to be done on approximately 1.70 miles of Beech Drive from its intersection with County Road C west to its intersection with County Road F.

Town Officials Absent: Treasurer Lisa Matuszak

Others: Larry Bretl for MCC, LeAnn Nooyen for M & L Excavating, Allan Maroszek for Performance Excavating, Buck McKeefry for McKeefry & Sons, Bret Hughes and Luther Hoffmann for Jenda Trucking and Larry Sperberg for L.J. Sperberg

The meeting opened at 1:25 p.m. Six contractors represented by seven people submitted bids and one bid was given to the clerk earlier for a total of seven bids. MOTION (Lewis/Powers/PASSED) to adjourn this meeting. The meeting closed at 2:20 p.m.

The meeting opened at 6:30 p.m. MOTION (Smiths/Powers/PASSED) to adjourn this meeting. The meeting closed at 6:35 p.m.

The bids for reconstruction of 1.70 miles of Beech Drive with a per-ton bid on an estimate of 4,500 tons of ¾ inch stone from seven contractors were opened. The low bid received was from McKeefry & Sons, Inc. for a total of $59,895.00 with $28,620.00 being for the dirt work and $31,275.00 for 4,500 tons of ¾ inch stone at $6.95 per ton. It was the general consensus to make the final decision on acceptance of a bid at the town board meeting scheduled for August 7, 2006.
