TOWN OF ANGELICA

Special Meeting ~ June 5, 2006

Town Officials Present: Chairman, Richard Smith, Supervisor Cliff Powers, Supervisor Wilbert Lewis, and Clerk Janet Powers

Town Officials Absent: Treasurer Lisa Matuszak

Others Present: Scott Nordin of Nordin-Pedersen Associates, Tony Berna and Ben Maroszek

The special meeting at which bids for the addition to and alteration of the Town of Angelica town hall was opened at 2:00 p.m. Four bids for this project were received, as follows:

· Clintonville Lumber with a base bid of $93,940.00

· Felts Construction with a base bid of $86,641.00

· Gwidt Construction with a base bid of $96,780.00

· Berna & Sons with a base bid of $87,500.00

The town has a Certificate of Deposit set aside for the building project. This CD will mature on July 25, 2006 with an approximate value of $64,200.00, which is over $20,000.00 short of the lowest bid received. There was discussion on how to proceed. Nordin informed the board that they would have three options (1) the bids remain open for thirty days and the board does not have to make a decision at this meeting (2) the town could cut back on the project and re-bid it or (3) the town could negotiate with the low bidder.

It was the general consensus to contact Felts Construction, the low bidder, to see if we could lower the cost of the project in some way and also to find out if Felts would wait for a final payment until February of 2007. A decision on accepting a bid for the project will be an agenda item for the June 19, 2006 town board meeting.

The meeting was closed at 3:00 p.m.
