Specific Matters for
Discussion and Possible Action by Town Board in Open Session:
MOTION
(Lewis/Powers/PASSED) to approve
the agenda as posted.
a. Bids for reconstruction work to be done on Elm Road
and Maple road received at a special town board meeting held on July 10, 2007
and estimated costs for reconstruction work on both roads received from the
Shawano County Highway Department were reviewed. MOTION (Powers/Lewis/PASSED UNANIMOUSLY) to accept the low
bid in the amount of $21,600.00 for one-mile of reconstruction work and $6.50
per ton for ¾” crushed stone received from M & L Excavating LLC for work to
be done on Elm Road (Bid #1) and to accept the low bid in the amount of
$15,750.00 for one-mile of reconstruction work and $6.50 per ton for ¾” crushed
stone received from M & L Excavating LLC for work to be done on Maple Road
(Bid #2).
b. There was discussion in regard to the Shawano County
Planning, Development and Zoning Committee’s interpretation of the front yard
setback in the A-290 Zoning District in that all structures must meet the
maximum front yard setback requirement and not just the principal residence. MOTION (Powers/Lewis/PASSED) to make a
formal request to the Shawano County Planning & Development Department for
a text amendment to County Zoning Ordinance No. 102 that would allow accessory
structures to be exempt from the 290’ front yard maximum setback
requirement. The clerk was instructed
to prepare the request as drafted with the addition of a notation regarding
past interpretations made regarding the A-290 front-yard setback requirements.
c. The proposed Shawano County Ordinance in regard to
the 911 Numbering System was reviewed.
The general consensus was to start with installation of the new
flag-style number signs right after the County ordinance is approved by the
County Board of Supervisors and to start getting cost estimates on signs and
also installation of the signs.
Adjournment: MOTION (Powers/Lewis/PASSED) to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 11:05 a.m.
