Informational Meeting for Property Owners on Town Line Road
August 26, 2009
Town Officials Present: Chairman, Richard Smith, Supervisors Wilbert Lewis and Greg P. Van Asten,
Shawano County Engineer Katie Schwartz and Clerk Janet Powers
Property Owners on Carroll Road: Joan Zima-VanDen Elzen, Dennis Mroczkowski, Jolene M. Mroczkowski, Daniel B. & Travis J. Domke amd Richard & Barbara Podrazik
This meeting with property owners/residents on Town Line Road was called to have discussion and receive information in regard to planned reconstruction of Town Line Road from its intersection with State Highway 32 west to its intersection with Green Valley Road. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Richard Smith at 6:00 p.m.
Chairman Smith introduced Shawano County Engineer Katie Schwartz and informed those present that the County started replacing three bridges on Town Line Road today. Work is being done on the bridge to the east and the road is presently closed to through traffic. In about a week the middle bridge will be replaced and in another week’s time the third bridge to the west will be replaced. Katie Schwartz indicated that the first two bridges will be arch pipes and no guard rail will be needed. The west bridge will be an aluminum box culvert. Schwartz also informed those present about some changes in the flow of water to the bridges and having approval of the DNR and Army Corp regarding these changes. The estimated completion date to replace the three bridges is a couple of days after Labor Day.
Chairman Smith brought the following to the attention of those present:
Chairman Smith also emphasized the
importance of marking any survey stakes, informing him of any field tiling
entering or being in the road ditch, and contacting him about any concerns
while the reconstruction work is being done and not waiting until the work is
finished.
Some of the questions/concerns raised by those present were:
· Zima had a concern about the timing of removing trees and fences
· Area of road where old railroad track crossed – the hill will be cut down
· Moving electric poles – will be done in the next two weeks
· Moving of telephone lines – will be done after removal of trees and any fence lines
· Mail boxes – contractor will move the mail boxes
· Access to a field – a culvert will be provided
· Town Chairman had a question regarding location of a gas line on the east end of Town Line Road
The informational meeting was closed at 6:30 p.m.
