Special Meeting ~Town of Angelica Board of Supervisors      

November 16, 2009

 

 

Town Officials Present:          Chairman, Richard Smith, Supervisors Wilbert Lewis and Greg Van Asten,

 and Clerk, Janet Powers

 

Town Officials Absent:           Treasurer Lisa Matuszak

 

Others Present:                        Clifford Powers and Elmer Kraning  

           

Call to Order/Roll Call:  Town Chairman Smith called the meeting to order at 7:15 p.m. Roll call was taken showing that only Treasurer Lisa Matuszak was absent.  [Clerk’s note:  The original agenda was posted on the afternoon of November 2, 2009 and also e-mailed to the Shawano Leader on, November 2nd.  The revised agenda was posted on December 13, 2009.]

 

 

Approval or Modification of Agenda:   MOTION (Lewis/ Van Asten/PASSED) to approve the agenda as posted. 

 

Specific Matters for Discussion and Possible Action by Town Board in Open Session:

 

a.       MOTION (Lewis/Van Asten/PASSED) to accept the proposed Snow Plowing & Removal Contract of M & L Excavating, Inc. for the 2009/2010 snow season to remove snow on Northwestern Avenue in Zachow.

 

b.      The fee schedule for services was reviewed.  MOTION (Van Asten/Lewis/PASSED) to leave all fees the same as they are with the exception of the fee for installation of 911 property numbers which will be increased from $45.00 to $50.00 to cover the cost of  the sign, post and installation in 2010.

 

c.       MOTION (Lewis/Powers/PASSED) to put a special charge for garbage collection of $50.00 on the 2009 property tax bills for all residences in the town.

 

d.      There was discussion regarding the claim of Irene Banaszynski regarding survey stakes and stones left in the town ditch after reconstruction of Maple Road in 2007.   Chairman Smith informed the board of a phone conversation he had with the adjuster from Rural Mutual regarding this claim.  MOTION (Lewis/Van Asten/PASSED UNANIMOUSLY) to send Irene Banaszynski and her attorney, George S. Pappas, Jr., a Notice of Disallowance of Claim that was done on the 16th of November.

 

e.       Resolution 11-16-09, a Bond Resolution regarding collection of all 2009 state and county taxes by the Town Treasurer was reviewed.  MOTION (Lewis/Van Asten/PASSED) to approve Resolution 11-16-09 as presented.

 

f.       MOTION (Van Asten/Lewis/PASSED UNANIMOUSLY) to adopt the 2010 Budget of the Town of Angelica as had been presented and finalized at the budget hearing and special town meeting of the electors held prior to this special town board meeting.

 

g.      MOTION (Lewis/Smith/PASSED) to go into closed session in regard to UDC inspection services at 8:10 p.m.  MOTION (Lewis/Van Asten/PASSED) to come out of the closed session at 8:25 p.m.

 

 

Adjournment:     MOTION Van Asten/Lewis/PASSED) to adjourn the meeting.    The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.
