GARBAGE
& RECYCLING PICKUP: The
day for garbage and recyclable pickup in the entire town is every other
Monday. Garbage and recyclables must be
out by seven o’clock in the morning for pickup. See the 2007 calendar enclosed giving the schedule for garbage
and recyclable pickup and also information in regard to garbage and recycling
requirements in the town. There is a
five-bag limit per home per every other week pickup. Landlords – please give this schedule to your renters.
Please
be reminded that garbage stickers are not to be placed on lids of garbage
cans or directly on the garbage can.
When using garbage cans, place a sticker on one of the garbage articles
in the can that can be easily seen by the garbage pickup person.
RECYCLE
RECYCLE
We
strongly encourage you to keep in mind that recycling helps everyone! Recycling
preserves natural resources, saves energy and reduces the need to open new
landfills. In short, it helps preserve
the environment for us and for future generations. Also, it has been state law for over ten years that everyone
in Wisconsin is to recycle newspaper, magazines, cardboard, food and beverage
containers, tires, yard waste, appliances, motor oil, lead acid batteries and
office paper. If we are to continue to
receive the annual recycling grant from the State of Wisconsin we must certify
that our recycling pounds per capita are within certain state standards
BURNING
POLICY IN THE Town of Angelica: It is illegal to burn wet
combustible rubbish, garbage, oily substances, asphalt, plastic, tires, rubber
or treated or painted wood. It is also
illegal to burn paper and cardboard that are to be recycled. Before burning, please obtain a copy
of the Town of Angelica’s policy on open burning. It is available on the town’s website or by
contacting the Town Clerk. In the
case of large amounts to be burned, notify the Pulaski Tri-County Fire
Department Chief, Frank Wichlacz, at 920-822-5630 and the Shawano County
Sheriff Department at 920-822-7905 (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. week days only) or
715-526-3111 (non-emergency 24-hour phone number) to inform them of the
planned burning.
DOG
LICENSES REQUIRED
County
Ordinance No. 6-94 – requires that all dogs over five months of age in the town
are to be licensed and have a rabies vaccination. A listing of people who have not obtained a dog license for their
dog or dogs is sent to the Shawano County District Attorney each year. Fines for violating this ordinance are not
less than $25.00 nor more than $100.00 for the first offense and not less than
$50.00 nor more than $200.00 for any subsequent offenses. Contact Town Treasurer, Lisa Matuszak
(822-4408) N2981 Green Valley Road, Pulaski
WI 54162 to obtain a license. Licenses are to be obtained from the Town
Treasurer by February 1st of each year. A $5.00 late fee is charged for all licenses not obtained by
April 1st. The owner shall securely
attach the tag to a collar. Having the license
tag and/or a tag on the dog’s collar giving the name of the dog and its owner
helps our town animal control person in returning a lost dog to its owner
quickly. Not keeping an animal on
its owner’s property and letting the animal roam at large is a violation of
this ordinance. Please refer
to the insert the Treasurer encloses with this tax statement. Collection dates are on one side of the
insert and information on dog licenses is on the reverse side.
911 PROPERTY NUMBERS
If
you do not have a 911 number installed in front of your property that can be
easily seen by the Rescue Squad or Fire Department, please contact Town
Supervisor Cliff Powers at 920-822-5554 to obtain that property number. Not having this number displayed is in violation of Shawano
County Ordinance No. 1-95 and more importantly it could delay emergency service
to you.
ROAD SIGNS
If
you notice a stop sign or other road signs are down, damaged or missing, please
contact any of the town officials. Having
all signs in place, especially in the case of stop signs, is very
important to the safety of people traveling our town roads.
Also,
if you notice anyone vandalizing signs or dumping rubbish in town road ditches,
would you please report it to any one of the town officials. This not only incurs extra expense for the
town but could create a potentially dangerous situation.

POND
CONSTRUCTION
A
town conditional-use permit and either a Shawano County land-use permit or
conditional use permit are required for construction of ponds in the Town of
Angelica. Contact Planning Committee
Secretary, Connie Nischke, for a copy of the Development Standards/Requirements
for ponds. Also, if the pond will be
constructed in wetlands or within 500 feet of a navigable stream, a County
Shoreland permit and/or additional permits from the DNR and the Army Corps of
Engineers could be required. For
information contact the Shawano Planning, Development & Zoning Department
at 715-526-6766.
BEFORE
STARTING ANY PROJECTS (BUILDING, DIGGING, REMOVAL OF SOIL, ETC.)
Be sure to check with the Shawano County Planning & Zoning
Department as to what permits might be required. If you are near a navigable waterway, Shawano County, DNR and
Army Corps permits also could be required.
TILING: If
you are aware of any tiling going to and entering into road ditches in front of
your property, please notify anyone on the town board about the location of
those tiles. The town has run into
extra expense because of not being aware of tiling in road ditches when
reconstructing roads and cleaning out ditches.
Your informing us of the location of these tiles is appreciated.
DITCHING/PLANTING/PLACEMENT
OF OBJECTS IN TOWN ROAD RIGHT OF WAY: Do not ditch along town roads without town
board approval. Trees or shrubs are
not to be planted less than 33 feet from a town road centerline. Also, the only objects that can be placed
in town road right of way by residents are mail boxes. Driveway markers/reflectors are to be placed
at least 33 feet from the town road centerline. A total width of 66 feet is the standard width needed for town
road reconstruction.
CUTTING GRASS AT THE TOWN HALL

you are interested in cutting the grass at the Town Hall or the town park
located in Krakow, please submit a proposal for cost-per-cutting and trimming
to the Town Board by Monday, April 9, 2007.
If interested in cutting for both areas, please submit a separate
proposal for each place.
