DOG LICENSES
NOTICE TO DOG OWNERS: Pursuant to Section 174.052, Wisconsin Statutes, notice is hereby given to all owners of dogs that rabies vaccinations by a veterinarian and dog licenses are required under the statutes.
NO DOG LICENSE WILL BE ISSUED WITHOUT PROOF OF VACCINATION. All dogs that are five months old by January 1st in the Town of Angelica MUST BE LICENSED. You are required to obtain the necessary licenses/s from the Town Treasurer no later than February 1st. If a dog is first acquired after February 1st, then you must obtain a license from the Town of Angelica Treasurer immediately. ALL DOGS OVER FOUR MONTHS OF AGE ARE REQUIRED BY LAW TO HAVE A RABIES SHOT.
LATE FEES: A late fee of $5.00 will be paid by every owner of a dog 5 months of age or over if the owner fails to obtain a license prior to April 1st of each year, or within 30 days of acquiring the dog, or if the owner fails to obtain a license on or before the dog reaches applicable age.
WARNING: If a license is not purchased for a dog that is on the "Listing of Dogs" that is compiled by the Town of Angelica Animal Control Person, the Treasurer is required to furnish this information to the County Clerk in a "Delinquent Dog Owners Report". This report is then turned over to the Shawano County District Attorney and fines for having an unlicensed dog are imposed.
