Voter Registration
All electors must be registered before being issued a ballot. There are three ways in which an elector may register to vote:
1. By Mail: Individuals may register by mail with the municipal clerk until 5:00 p.m. on the 3rd Wednesday (20 days) before the election. Please note that proof of residency must accompany the Voter Registration Application. The municipal clerk may accept mail-in registrations postmarked on or before this deadline. Click here for the Voter Registration Application (EL-131)
2. In Person: Individuals may register in person with the municipal clerk until 5:00 p.m. on the Friday preceding the election. If the elector registers in person after the 3rd Wednesday before the election, the municipal clerk issues a Certificate of Registration (GAB-133) to the elector containing the elector’s name and address that he or she must present to the Election Inspectors. Individuals who register after the 3rd Wednesday before the election must provide proof of residence at the time of registration.
3. On Election Day: An individual may also register at the polling place on Election Day until the polls close at 8:00 p.m. These individuals must provide proof of residence.
